The world has been noisy the past few days but for just a few minutes this afternoon it stopped. The world who talks all day, moves all day, is busy all day, just stopped. The clouds looking painted by God with big streaks of white on sky blue, weren’t moving. I don’t know if it was just my perception but there was no wind. It was in sync with the about to be lighted candles.
Los Banos the past few days has been roaring with crimes. Within the time span of half a year, there are two rape cases, two murder cases and probably more cases that don’t reach our circles. This shouldn’t be. Every citizen has the right to feel safe, to live in a peaceful environment. I have gone through turmoils in my family the past week, then finally when that is resolved, I hear of the events happening in my second home, UPLB. I know I don’t know the victims, but I couldn’t help but feel emotional with how the mother of ‘Cesil’ was channeling her anger to those people by speaking to us, challenging us. I also felt sad with Ray’s landlady’s speech. It was really emotional. It also felt she was piercing my heart with her words. I got to know some of the street kids during my stay here in Los Banos and I can’t imagine if any of them suffered the same fate. I also know of some who live near where Ray was stabbed and was going home a few hours before he did. I don’t understand why they still had to do that to him. I mean was there purpose only to kill? to inflict pain? What horrible people! There’s a fire burning on everybody’s hearts, whether it is for justice on these people or for the safety of themselves or their loved ones.
So time suddenly stopped. For a few short minutes, no cloud was gliding, no leaf was rustling and no wind was moving. The year before last year, I may have been to a funerary more than 10 times to sing, to pay respects, or to say goodbye. The scent of the flowers I can smell again, the vision of the place, I imagine and the gloomy chill, I felt. I shuddered at what I had conceptualized in my mind. I don’t want to go back to a funerary, and maybe these people too but that wouldn’t be the case for them.
Life in the other side could be fun. I think when time stopped, God assured me he was there. He assured all of us that for a moment He was solely for us, that the world had stopped moving because He was within our community, mourning with us but happy to receive such wonderful people who have touched a lot of hearts. I remember when a family member died, God assured me through the bluest of blue seas I have ever seen and the countless stars on the sky, he was there, and that family member is taken under his protection. These people as well, know that their children were good people and rest assured God has taken them with him too. Nature had its way of talking to me reassuring me, today it seemed to do the same. I feel safer just knowing God is there with me.

I think that’s a good way to describe me. )) I don’t want people to say I’m such a hypocrite pretending to be innocent, here’s me saying I’m not pretending. I know certain terms but that’s somehow public knowledge and this was how I was raised innocent to the world so here it is..

During Thursdays are the best time to practice after Math class where everybody is classmates to each other during lecture.
There’ll be another event. February 2, by the UPLB Photographer’s society, if not enough practice was conducted then, acoustic it is.
